Overview

The Lingle Pool proposes an opening date of June 15th, 2020. We seek to provide a fun and safe environment for the families and individuals living in our community. We are aware of current state and federal restrictions and this detailed plan describes our efforts to abide by those.

Goals

  1. To serve our community in a safe way.
  2. To provide safe employment for our staff.
  3. To prevent and plan for the implications of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Specifications & Preventative Measures

Staff expectations.

  • Staff are required to be screened for a temperature (100.4 F or above will not be permitted to work) and other COVID-19 symptoms before every shift.
  • All staff temperature readings will be logged and recorded by the date and time it was taken. All records will be saved and kept in the pool office.
  • Any time a staff member is interacting with patrons (temperature readings, snack or money handling, life jacket fittings, admission recording, etc.) they will be required to wear a mask and gloves.

Admission expectations.

  • One staff member will be outside the pool office to “check” patrons in. This staff member will be wearing a mask and gloves.
  • Every patron entering our facility will be required to have their temperature read and checked for other COVID-19 symptoms. If any temperature is at 100.4 F, they will not be permitted to enter.
  • Staff members will let one patron in the facility at a time to further enforce proper social distancing.
  • Patrons entering the facility will provide the office staff with their name, phone number, and home address as they walk in to pay for admission. Staff member will record their name and information along with the time they arrived at the pool.  This information will be saved and filed to ensure efficiency should we need to trace back to contacts.

In the pool and fenced area.

  • Maximum capacity has been drastically reduced to 55 patrons in the pool area and deck area (area within the fence) to allow for proper social distancing.
  • Masks will not be allowed in the pool.
  • Social distancing (6 feet) measures will be enforced within the pool area.
  • Outside toys, noodles, inflatables, kickboards, etc. will not be allowed.
  • Patrons will be encouraged to bring their own life jackets.
    • Life jackets will be given out if needed and will be sanitized after every use.
  • We do not have a baby pool.
  • Chairs will be spaced at least 6 feet apart and will be sanitized after each use.

Swim Lessons.

  • We will continue to offer swim lessons as usual.
  • Classes will be spread out strategically with the higher-level classes utilizing the deep end and the lower-level classes utilizing the shallow area.
  • Social distancing (6 feet) will be enforced during lessons.
  • All parents and guardians will be notified that swim lessons are to be used at their own risk, recognizing the chance of contact during the lesson.

Cleaning & sanitizing.

  • One staff member will be scheduled as the sole sanitizer/cleaner during each shift. If an extra staff member cannot be scheduled, then sanitizing and cleaning will be one of the “rotations” for our guards who rotate from guarding outside and through the office every 15 minutes.
  • Staff will be sanitizing handrails, chairs, doorknobs, diving board, slide, bathroom curtains, sinks, and any other surface that can be touched with Clorox water or disinfectant spray.

Bathrooms.

  • Patrons will be encouraged to come dressed in swimsuits and ready to swim.
  • There will be no lockers or cubbies available for storage in the bathrooms.
  • Bathroom facilities will be available for staff and patrons.

CDC Signage.

  • There will be abundant and clear signage at the front door as well as throughout the facility indicating CDC restrictions, pool expectations, and other notices that need to be communicated clearly. Social distancing rules will be posted and enforced.

Candy & Water.

  • We will continue to sell candy, water, and soda from behind the counter in the pool office.
  • Pop machines will be taken out of the office.
