Welcome to the Town of Lingle. The Town of Lingle was incorporated September 7, 1918 and was named after H.D. Lingle. The Town of Lingle was largely built from the Railroad and Agriculture. Lingle is a "Small But Proud" community comprised of people who believe in rugged individuality, individual responsibility, are compassionate and have a strong sense of community. We are located between Torrington and Fort Laramie, in the heart of Goshen County, along the Oregon Trail. Town Hall is currently located at 220 Main Street.
Resolution No. 119
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE RENEWAL OF THE ONE PERCENT (1%) OPTIONAL EXCISE TAX FOR AN ADDITIONAL FOUR YEARS IN GOSHEN COUNTY, WYOMING
WHEREAS, since 2004, the 1% Optional Excise Tax has provided funding to the Governmental Bodies of Goshen County for essential services to residents; and;
WHEREAS, the Citizens of Goshen County and Lingle look to the Municipal and County Governments to provide essential public services; and;
WHEREAS, the increasing costs of these services threaten to outstrip the revenues available to our Goshen County and Lingle governments; and;
WHEREAS, the money is available with the approval of the 1% Optional Excise Tax; and;
WHEREAS, the 1% Optional Excise Tax can be continued with an affirmative vote of the citizens of Goshen County and Lingle; now;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Lingle supports the 1% Optional Excise Tax and urges the citizens of Lingle and Goshen County to vote for and support the passage of the 1% Optional Excise Tax in the 2016 General Election.
